FAQ

What's the tuning Process?

  • The retooled mx blacks are desoldered from NOS cherry G80-1800s made between 2006 and 2008 using an Hakko FR-301. They are then ultrasonicly cleaned and dried.
  • The coming steps are applied on all the available switches. The switches are "lubed" with diamond polishing paste, filmed and put in the break-in machine for 1.5 milion actuations.
  • They are cleaned and dried again, to be then lubed, re-filmed and springswapped.
  • Stems are lubed (with exactly 0.05g of lube each) by shaking them in glass container to ensure the best consistency possible.
  • Springs are lubed with Krytox 105 oil.

Why diamond polishing over break-in?

We choosen diamond polishing over regular dry break-in because of the incredible increase in smoothness it can achieve, expecially when working with decently scratchy switches. All iterations of MX switches have been frequently used for their amaizing sound and legacy, but many of us just don't enjoy the scratchy feeling they have.

How does diamond polishing work?

To diamond polish switches, we must open and clean each one of them, then a special mix of 0.5µm thick (W0.25) polishing paste and Krytox 205g0 is applied on the switches, in the same way you would do when lubing. They are also filmed to ensure the polishing happens in identical conditions to regular use. They then run on a centered break-in machine for 2 days, and they spend another 4 sessions of 6 hours each on a off-center machine. They are then cleaned from the paste and lubed.

How long does shipping take?

All ready to ship switches depart the day after the order, and they usually take 3-5 days to reach Europe and 2 days to reach the US and Canada. For all other areas shipping should never exceed 1 week.
